I’m beyond excited to join forces with Priyadarshan again after 14 years. This dream collaboration has been a long time coming… can’t wait to share this incredible journey with you all. Stay tuned for the magic!” The poster features Akshay drinking milk with a black cat perched on his shoulder.
Fans quickly reacted to the post. One fan commented, “The magical duo is back, collaborating after 14 years for the 7th time, Akshay X Priyadarshan.” Another wrote, “Legendary reunion.” Many also took the opportunity to wish him a happy birthday.
Earlier, Akshay Kumar hinted at a special announcement on his 57th birthday with a video on Instagram. He wrote, “Ganpati Bappa Morya! What could be better than a day like today to hint at something special coming your way. The reveal is set for my birthday. Stay tuned (sic)!” Reports suggest that this announcement is about a horror-comedy film with Priyadarshan, marking their reunion since Khatta Meetha 14 years ago.
While details about the film are scarce, it is expected to involve elements of black magic and feature three leading actresses. The motion poster was indeed released on Akshay’s birthday, with the film set to begin shooting by the end of this year and continue into the first half of 2025. Filming locations will include Hyderabad, a forest in Kerala, Sri Lanka, and Gujarat, as reported by India Today. Rumors suggest Kiara Advani, Keerthy Suresh, and Alia Bhatt may be part of the cast.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Priyadarshan mentioned that the film, produced by Ekta Kapoor, will blend horror and humor. He shared, “Now that I am done with my docu-series on the Ram Mandir’s history, my most important film on which I am beginning work is the one with Akshay, produced by Ekta Kapoor. It is a horror fantasy with humor.”
