Today marks the birth anniversary of Rishi Kapoor, who would have turned 72. Although the legendary actor is no longer with us, his family continues to honor his memory. On this special day, Rishi Kapoor’s wife, Neetu Kapoor, and daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, have shared heartfelt tributes to the beloved actor.
Neetu Kapoor Remembers Rishi Kapoor
Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of Rishi Kapoor celebrating his birthday with his granddaughter. In the photo, Rishi is seen blowing out candles on a cake. Neetu captioned the post: “In your memory. Today, you would have been 72 years old.” She also shared several old photos of Rishi Kapoor on her Instagram Stories, where fans have sent their birthday wishes to the late actor.
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni’s Tribute
Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Rishi Kapoor’s daughter and Ranbir Kapoor’s sister, also posted a heartfelt note and a throwback photo of her father. She mentioned that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s daughter, Raha, resembles her late grandfather. Riddhima wrote:
“Happy Birthday, Papa… I wish you were here to celebrate this special day with your two granddaughters. Your ‘Bandri’ Sam (Samaira, Riddhima’s daughter) has grown up, and little Raha is the sweetest. She looks just like you, Papa. I will always cherish the memories we shared. We miss you so much, and our love for you grows deeper with each passing day.”
Rishi Kapoor’s Legacy
The photo Riddhima shared shows Rishi Kapoor holding his granddaughter Samaira in his lap while blowing out candles before cutting the cake. Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30, 2020, at the age of 67, after a battle with cancer. Some of his most memorable films include Bobby, Kabhie Kabhie, Amar Akbar Anthony, Naseeb, Prem Rog, Agneepath, Mulk, and Kapoor & Sons.
