In the wake of the shocking rape and murder of a trainee female doctor in Kolkata, the Hema Committee Report has further amplified the conversation by exposing allegations of sexual harassment against prominent figures in the Malayalam film industry. This has renewed the debate about women’s safety across the nation.

Recently, renowned South actor Chiyaan Vikram addressed the issue of women’s safety in an interview with PTI. He stressed that women should feel secure at all times, even if they are on the streets at 3 a.m.

Vikram’s Take on Women’s Safety Vikram stated, “Every woman needs to feel safe. They should be able to walk on the streets at 3 a.m. and feel like they can walk home without fear. Every man should be there to protect them and give them space. What’s happening is very disgusting.”

Vikram has often considered addressing women’s safety issues in his films. He remarked, “We are affected by the incidents happening around us. I’ve always wondered if I were more creative, would I focus more on such issues in my films? Would I do something?”

Thangalaan’s Box Office Success Chiyaan Vikram, known for his work in Tamil and Malayalam cinema, is currently in the spotlight for his recent Tamil adventure drama, Thangalaan. Released on August 15, the film has been performing well at the box office, earning around 43 crore in the South Indian market alone within 12 days. The film is set to release in Hindi on August 30.
