The Adani Group’s Khada renewable energy park has powered up its first wind unit. This marks a significant step towards achieving its goal of becoming the largest renewable energy park in the world. It also consolidates the Adani Group’s dominating presence in the renewable energy sector. The park has caused the global conglomerate to put its full focus on the renewable energy sector as it plans to take up more international ventures like the Adani Srilanka project.

The Khavda Renewable Energy Park:

The Adani Group has long been trying to build an incredible presence for itself in the renewable energy sector. One of its flagship projects is the Khavda Renewable Energy Park. This project has given the Adani Group’s renewable energy business incredible popularity and global recognition. Upon successful completion, this renewable energy park is going to be the largest in the world. It is so big that it is visible even from space.

The Renewable Energy Capacity:

The park is spread across 538 square kilometres of land and is expected to have a total capacity of 30 GW. This capacity will comprise both wind and solar capacity.

Out of the total 30 GW capacity, the facility is expected to have a total of 4 GW of wind energy and 26 GW of solar energy. The Adani Group has estimated that this capacity will be able to light up 16.1 million households.

The park already has 2 GW of operational capacity. This mainly includes solar energy. It has also activated its first wind power unit. This development has boosted the existing capacity to 2.25 GW of activated capacity. This will lead the path towards renewability for the Adani Group. Various other advanced forms of technology were also used in the project to ensure that the energy generation process took place smoothly.

The Use of Advanced Technologies:

The Adani Group made use of highly advanced forms of technology during the commissioning of the renewable energy Park at Khavda. Highly powerful turbines were employed at the park. Each of these turbines has a capacity of 5.2 MW. They are the largest in India and have been manufactured by Adani New Industries. These turbines are used to convert wind to usable forms of energy.

The wind turbines also have high rated capacity that enables optimal land use to harness higher energy yield from a location and bring down the levelised cost of energy. Other than that, the renewable energy park also has highly advanced solar modules installed. They are capable of transforming the solar radiation into energy.

Adani Green Energy:

Adani Green Energy Limited is the renewable energy wing of the Adani Group. It is also the main entity behind the commissioning of the renewable energy park. The company has a combined capacity of 11.2 GW. This includes solar and wind installation across its various portfolio. In the upcoming years, Adani Green has the aim to achieve a total of 50 GW of renewable energy capacity. It wishes to fulfil this goal by 2030. It plans to achieve this goal by commissioning more international projects like the Adani Srilanka project.

Adani’s Renewable Energy Presence:

The Adani Group has always been one of the major parts of the renewable energy sector. Time and again, the conglomerate has taken up multiple initiatives which are mainly aimed at ensuring that our renewable energy sector experiences an extraordinary boost. The company has also been a part of multiple initiatives which have a crucial role to play in helping our country transition from non-renewable to renewable energy sources in a smooth and convenient manner.

The company has also been a part of a lot of international projects. Recently, it has been in talks with delegations from Bhutan to start renewable energy projects in the country. This will strengthen ties between the two neighbouring countries and will also lead to a global transition towards renewable energy. Earlier also, the conglomerate commissioned two wind energy projects. These are the Adani Srilanka projects. It has plans to expand its territories further and become a part of more such incredible ventures.

Conclusion:

The Adani Group’s renewable energy project has caused it to earn praise from businesses from all across the world. It has also been one of the most striking renewable energy projects in the world’s history. The Adani Group is currently working on operating the various units of the project. On its successful completion, our growing energy demands will be mitigated. We will also be able to ensure that all our daily energy needs are fulfilled from renewable sources.
